Elevate your espresso game with PUQ's latest innovation: a cutting-edge WDT-tool that ensures even and clump-free coffee distribution for superior extraction.
In a move to enhance espresso extraction, PUQ (formerly Puqpress), the automatic tamping machine maker, has unveiled its latest innovation - the PUQ Navigator. This pre-tamping-tool is designed to promote even and clump-free ground coffee distribution, ultimately improving the quality of your espresso shots.
Randomness Mechanism for Optimal Extraction
Powered by a rechargeable lithium battery, the PUQ Navigator's motor drives a “randomness mechanism” involving a spinning ring and multiple needles. This unique configuration disrupts potential channeling, ensuring a full and even extraction with every shot, according to the Dutch brand.
The device's dot matrix display allows users to monitor settings and status, and it can accommodate baskets with capacities ranging from 18-20 grams to 20-22 grams, thanks to the availability of different needle lengths.
Seamless Integration into the Workflow
The PUQ Navigator can be positioned on top of the portafilter prior to grinding, allowing the grounds to fall through it directly from the grinder. The device also features a delay mode, which adds a few seconds before activation, making it a seamless part of the barista's workflow.
The battery life of the Navigator is impressive, with the ability to run for up to 2,000 cycles on a single charge, depending on the mode. Users can choose between two, four, or six-second activation times, further enhancing the device's versatility.
The PUQ Navigator is expected to hit the market by the end of the year, with an anticipated retail price range of $350-400. This innovative tool is sure to catch the attention of coffee enthusiasts and professionals alike, as it aims to elevate the espresso extraction experience.
Endorsement from World Barista's
During the recent World Barista Championship in Busan, Zvejaun Janga, the only European finalist, used the PUQ Navigator, further validating its effectiveness in the hands of top-tier baristas. The innovative tool is sure to catch the attention of coffee enthusiasts and professionals alike, as it aims to elevate the espresso extraction experience.
